You gotta love an east London warehouse rooftop shoot…
These gorgeous photographs are of jazz singer Irene Serra (pronounced “ee-ray-neh”). The Italian-born vocalist started studying jazz at 16 with much-loved Italian jazz singer Tiziana Ghiglioni before moving to London to continue her training. Now living in east London, Irene can be found gigging around town and at private parties while making plans to tour her band –isq’s debut album. Released last September, the album is full of deftly sung jazziness with a strong double base – the kind of music you can sink into with a nice glass of wine. My favourite has to be This Bird Has Flown (video below) with its theatrical set and Irene’s Liza Minnelli-in-Caberet inspired wardrobe. Check out –isq on Facebook and Twitter and you can find their album on iTunes and Amazon. The fabulous dress is by Lithuanian designer Egidijus Rainys and burgundy velvet Chelsea boots by Deena & Ozzy. Photos by Milan-based art director & designer Carolina Mazzolari.
