DHL Crafty Blogger Challenge | Small Is Beautiful

DHL Crafty Blogger Challenge | Small Is Beautiful | UK fashion blog | Stylonylon

You may remember earlier this autumn, I got all crafty and made a dreamcatcher for the DHL Crafty Blogger Challenge, well, the #DHLChain has finally completed with these awesome moon-inspired goodies by Louise from Super Duper Things

As the project made its way through quite a few bloggers – you can see the whole project unfold on Twitter at #DHLChain – I’d almost forgotten all about it. But several weeks later and I received a huge DHL box containing this incredible moon canvas (I am obsessed with this!) and moon & rope necklace with an illustrated backing card (my husband immediately nicked this!). Louise’s lunar and nighttime theme came from previous blogger Carolline’s ‘a good night’s sleep’ – you should check out Louise’s lovely Etsy shop to see more of her work.

Now, as the first blogger in the chain I must now reveal what the original theme was! Drum roll… it was ‘Small is Beautiful’ & ‘Don’t call me cute!’! I have to admit I was a bit flummoxed by ‘Don’t Call Me Cute!’ so chose to focus on  ‘Small is Beautiful’. I decided on a dreamcatcher because I wanted something small, almost magical, that was also a thing of beauty. I know I could have gone down so many roads but this is the one that called out to me! What I love is how the theme of nighttime and a good night’s sleep made it through all the way to the final bloggers! There have been some fantastic creations as a result of this and you can see them on Pinterest here.
