Earlier this week, this beautiful package arrived through my door. It wasn’t until I unwrapped it that I realised it was a blogger styling project I’d been asked to take part in, the F&F Paper Doll Party…
Exquisitely put together, inside was a paper doll (sporting my signature bun, very thoughtful!) with a selection of garments from the current Christmas collection and a box of delightful biscuits from Notting Hill’s Biscuiteers. My challenge? To style up the little lady (let’s call her Ms Stylonylon, shall we?) for a chance to win F&F’s blogger competition – the prize, an impressive luxury package of a London hotel stay, helicopter ride, a meal at The Shard and beauty treatments. As I literally used to try and make these paper doll sets when I was little, I dropped everything that morning to style up my entries.
My first outfit choice was super sophisticated – a LBD with elegant sheer sleeves for a posh night out. Love this dress, the sleeves really take it to the next level for me! My second look was more casual, a spaghetti strap slip with floral skirt, perfect for a Sunday lunch. I love a fitted skirt, so chic! (I ‘fess up, I tucked the top in and snipped off the sides to make it fit perfectly. Just call me the Paper Doll Stylist!) For Look 3, I couldn’t resist photographing Ms Stylonylon in the floral dress that matched the biscuit – a floral dress is a wardrobe staple for me – and my final look was an extremely chic red raincoat teamed with black leggings, the perfect city break ensemble. A practical outfit for seeing the sights!
And yes, I went the extra inch and styled my paper doll up with a handbag and bracelet (read, lifesize ring and earring!). Needless to say, I’ve been proudly whipping this out for friends, cue squeals of delight. What girl doesn’t love a paper doll to dress? A big thankyou to F&F for including me in this, it made a stressful pre-Christmas week so much more enjoyable! If you fancy a shot yourself, you can download your own Paper Doll and outfits here and enter your creations via Pinterest & Twitter for the chance to win a F&F £50 voucher. If you do, tweet me your entry, I’d love to see how you style her!
And, I also have a £25 voucher for giveaway to tempt you with! Think £25 isn’t that much? Think again, this blue check knit and gloves I’m wearing as featured on the F&F tumblr blog (Style Star? *I blush*) came in under £25. To enter, just leave a comment below telling me which of my Paper Doll looks you like the best. I will pick a winner at random on January 16th (hello 2014!) and get your voucher sent out. Only condition is that you need to be 18+ to enter (read the rest of the T&C’s here). Good luck!
