Two must-have books for the fashion blog obsessed – Paris Postcards by Vogue fashion illustrator Jason Brooks and DIY Fashion Shoot Book by We Are Photogirls…
Paris Postcards is a beautifully put-together little book of 20 pull-out sketches taking in familiar but favourite Parisian sights and scenes – La Seine, delicious pastries, chic ladies, the Galigani bookshop and street lamps among others. A lovely present and just lovely to have.
DIY Fashion Shoot Book is more specifically for fashion mad teenagers, fashion bloggers or anyone who wants to work in magazines. Lots of inspiring shoot ideas and challenges (polka-dot room, anyone?) plus step-by-step how-tos on art direction and styling, and loads of tips and projects, including cut-out bunny glasses. Nuff said! We Are Photogirls, Emily Stein and Celia Willis, organise fashion shoots, events and all sorts of things. Find out more here.
Also in these shots, a sneak peek of my new baby, the mini bowling bag by Sophie Hulme, my most structured grown-up handbag, in black (another first!), ever. It’s also the kind of leather that doesn’t get water-stained, is the perfect size for me (mini, ha!) and has just the right opening for dipping into its rectangular capacity and finding your mobile/housekeys/lipbalm straight away. I am in love! And you can also see my flashy new camera strap by Sarah Frances Kuhn. Busting away these grey days, though I had to use a variety of sidelights to light these photos as so grey indoors today…
Paris Postcards (£9.95) and DIY Fashion Shoot Book (£14.95) are both just out and available from Laurence King.
