“Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.” The immortal words of Ferris circa 1986 still hold true. In fact, life, online and off, zooms by at quite a rate so a little recap every now and then seems apropos…
This week…
I lunched… at the gorgeous home of Hush founder Mandy Watkins (her of the comfy luxe pyjamas) for the launch of the SS14 collection. Incredible organic food was laid on by Riverford (with Elle Decor as placemats no less!) and I met brilliant bloggers Lucy from Fashion Me Now and Amanda from The Online Stylist. We nattered and gossiped over a divine goat’s cheese tart and poppy seed courgette cake. Full post coming soon with a look at the SS14 collection which included the perfect faded boyfriend jeans and shorts, open-stitch knits and silky slips. I want it all!
I shopped… at House of Fraser with Fiorelli Bags for their #LFWhang style panel on Google Hangout next week (Wednesday 19th at 2pm – tune in!) I fell in love with the cobalt black Harper they had chosen for me and snapped up these incredible jungle skate shoes by Ash. I reckon they beat all the other versions by a long way! I also met gorgeous bloggers Emma from EJ Style (also on the panel!) and Annie from Epiphanniea. Love these girls – and coincidentally we were all featured the next day on Today I’m Wearing’s Editors Picks (you’ll have to scroll down a bit to see us three in a row!)
I watched… the new Game of Thrones 15 minute trailer. An utterly brilliant insight into what season 4 holds with lots of good chat from the cast and directors. They can do no wrong! Asked which was her most bad-ass moment, Daenerys, of course, says “Dracarys!”, one of my favourite scenes where she calls upon her dragon. Can’t wait for more! Though in the meantime House of Cards (which starts this Friday on Netflix) will more than do!
I won… a year’s free self-hosting for my blog with Blogger’s World on Grid Host because I tweeted them a hen photo (a light Sussex hen, if you must know!). They’ve given me 10% off for you lovely readers, so sign up here. The hosting works out at £2.50 a month and they can set it all up for you. The brilliant Luke gave me a hand doing the tech side of things as I was a bit worried about messing it up!
I received… some very pretty post for LFW. Gorgeous invites from The Apartment (illustrated by Kris Atomic) and FelderFelder. The Apartment’s invite also included this super cool space-age bracelet by Cooee. Love! Also in the insta above, my middle rose gold stacking ring (check me out on the product page, haha!) is my first piece from Anna Lou of London as one of their new brand ambassadors.
I blogged… my favourite interview to date, with the incredibly chic Julia Dobson of Village England. Check her amazing style picks from Acne and Rag & Bone and see what makes her perfect bag – this woman knows her stuff! And I adored this brilliant quote from her mum, “Good haircut, good handbag, good pair of shoes and it doesn’t really matter what happens in between.”
And finally… do make sure you don’t miss the Google Hangout next week! Tweet your questions to @fiorelli_bags and #LFWhangout – the style panel includes yours truly, Natasha from Girl in the Lens, Emma from EJ Style, Paula from The Pho-Diaries, Sophia from Girl In Menswear and Fiorelli head designer Lisa Wood.
