Last week I popped over to Dalston to catch up with lovely London-based knitwear designer Amy Hall and to take a peek at her gorgeous AW14 collection… 

I’d already been checking out the lookbook online and fallen madly in love with the Cleopatra jumper (below). All Amy’s pieces are handmade by her and her small team with predominantly-sourced British yarn. Her pieces are always utterly unique, beautifully put-together and oh-so desirable – each design is just the kind thing you want to throw on in a moment of effortless chic plus feeling super cosy to boot. Ok, given how the collections are produced, the pieces don’t come in cheap but Amy has some pretty amazingly priced previous season sale pieces here, including the signature mohair t-shirt for a knocked-down by over half-price, £82. After we’d perused AW14, Amy pulled open her vintage suitcase of spring/summer ’14 knits in pale blues (heather is one shade) and creams. Check out the gorgeous asymmetric dress and ballet style wrap cardigan (so Flashdance, right?). The light mohair tee, Amy was kind enough to lend to me this week and I’ve loved wearing it. It’s so perfect with distressed denim (you can see this is the look Amy’s rocking herself) and is just the right amount of layering over a vest or a t-shirt for this transitional spring weather. I’m planning on wearing it to the Fashion Targets Breast Cancer launch party later this week as part of a black & cream ensemble and then I promise to give it back! Shop the SS14 collection here!
