Yesterday we popped along to a local arts & crafts exhibition and I fell upon these gorgeous bangles by jewellery designer Heather McDermott…
Inspired by stacking creeks – small wicker baskets used by fishermen to hold their catch – these stainless steel bangles came as a set of five, although you can buy them in singles or however many you like! Five felt wonderfully indulgent and certainly displays them to their best effect.
I love how on your wrist they fall into a different pattern every time. Heather is inspired by her stunning Skye shoreline incorporating its shapes and colours and the softening the industrial steel of the fishing industry into soft, geometric forms for her work. You can see the rest of her current collection here.
As you can see my island looks have become a veritable parade of stripes and denim on the beach – packing light means limited options on the dressing front which is nice but, well, a tad limiting! The weather has picked up though and tomorrow we’re going to take a little boat trip to see the seals – I can’t wait! Unfortunately, as I don’t have a zoom lens with me (I hardly ever use one) I doubt I’ll be able to get any photos of them sunning themselves on the rocks. Next time!
