While the rest of Britain has tumbled into a mire of snow and gales, we are being so lucky up here in Skye with some of the most gloriously sunny and mild December days I’ve ever experienced…
I can’t quite describe how breathtakingly beautiful this island is and only hope a couple of these photos can give you a hint. Obviously the need to stay warm is of primary importance but I’m being well-served by woolly layers of oatmeal and grey and probably the best winter coat I’ve had to date, this Hush parka, which, with its blue fleecy lining, fluffy hood and cocoon silhouette covering a good portion of the body has fast made it onto my wardrobe icon list (I’ve stolen this tag from the recently launched Wardrobe Icons by former fashion editors Laura Fantacci from WIT & Petronella Stofberg, go check it for an injection of beautiful online magazine editorial and wardrobe top picks!).
Best buy of December must go to these All Saints combat boots – they have kept me warm and dry without lifting a fingertip (boot equivalent, a lace perhaps?). Sadly for me, I bought them just before they dropped to half-price in the sale (can I share my pain?). Pricey but keepers, so we’re good!
In other news I’m powering through David Mitchell’s The Bone Clocks and panicking midly about not having properly perused the sales online. Have I missed anything?
