Dinner Party Tonight

IMG_5854 2In the immortal words of every woman ever, “I have nothing to wear!”. Ok, modify that to, “I have nothing to wear tonight!”…

Obviously this has nothing to do with actual lack of clothes, ahem. More to do with the fact I don’t really know what I wear in the evening time going out these days, cuz frankly I’m a bit out of practice.

Was a time when I knew just how and when to pull out the glitzy gladrags or when, really, it was much cooler to be out late sporting just a check shirt and leggings. Now, not so much. I feel a bit lost. Ok, pityfest over.

So, because I have nothing to wear ie. nothing new and fabulous enough to feel like I can own this dinner party evening outright, I shall do what I did last time. Go for the perfectly acceptable I’m-making-an-effort-but-in-a-relaxed-kinda-way silk off-white shirt and layering rose gold as per.

Obviously it’s freezing and this is without a jumper kind of look, but I’ll keep cosy with big scarves over huge cost faux. See, I’m not just a pretend adult who stays in a lot cuz she actually quite likes it, I’m a responsible dresser too.

  1. Oh I can so identify with this and I feel like I’m getting lazier. Now do tell please – what are you having as footwear with this ensemble? I need all the ideas I can get.

    1. Ok, last time I wore this out I went with skinny ripped jeans and pretty high (for me!) ankle boots, but by Chie Mihara so decent heel and comfy to wear. Imagine will do same tonight, haha!

    1. Day to day I’m ok, it’s the evenings I’m feeling a bit flummoxed about right now… #sooutofpractice
