As luck would have it, the colour-pop blooms on this peasant dress wouldn’t let me leave the Free People showroom without their pretty floral faces, despite the wintry December night…
Having just recovered from a rather sickly Christmas and New Year (me), they called out to me once again – this time, from the back of my closet where they had been rather unceremoniously flung – for a little Sunday playtime. They had obviously sensed my celebratory mood, puffed up no doubt by a mention in the current issue Porter as sporting a style relevant to the forthcoming spring (SPRING, people!) – The Peasant Dress. (Love how Porter has decided to take ownership of the definite article; everything is a ‘THE’. And why not. Only choose what’s forever fabulous, right?).
So, here it is. The ever so pretty peasant dress with the simplest of jewellery and classic black ankle boots as I listen to Tracy Chapman on the 80s channel and forget about it all. It’s Sunday after all. No intention of leaving the house – which I’ve been subjecting to a pre-spring spring clean and enjoying the light-feeling fruits of my labours.

i must admit i’m slightly jealous of your lovely legs! this dress looks so sweet on you and you look fab with your hair down!
Trust me, they’re the shortest legs going
But thankyou, and yes, hair down is fun but just not very good with it, must do it more!
