For someone who’s life is spent taking photos of pretty much everything, the one thing I’m lacking is pictures of me and Gus. Always being behind the camera has its drawbacks! And I’m not the only mother who suffers from this I think…
When Boden asked me to take part in a Mother’s Day blog post with two other lovely bloggers with kids (award-winning Style Me Sunday & former fashion editor Little Spree), picking out some fave pieces to wear, I thought I’d take the opportunity to get a lovely set of photos of me and Gus done. (I also scored two new spring favourites; this cute little grey knit and these wide-legged white jeans which I ripped for length, as per!)
So I got properly organised and called in the services of photographer Clare Walsh who specialises in shooting kids. A former primary school teacher she totally knows how to interact with kids and that showed right from the minute she met Gus; chatting to him immediately and engaging his interest. As I faffed around with outfit bits and pieces, Clare was amazing at entertaining Gus and her good humour, positive attitude and sheer pleasure in photography sailed us through a really lovely shoot session. I don’t think Gus even realised that he wasn’t just having a good play with some biscuit-eating thrown in.
Anyway, an edit of these are up on The Great Boden Diaries but here are some more faves from the shoot – Clare also did me a set of black and whites too which is lovely to have, thankyou Clare! See more of Clare’s work at clarewalshphotography.com
