Hi folks! Sorry for the radio silence, I’m back in Greece with crazy busy wonderful days but shaky wifi… However, a bit of a summer beauty update. As you know, I tend to go for skincare brands that are more natural and organic, but I’m not exclusive on this, especially on the make-up front, and I’m always interested to see what’s out there and what works…
Of course I had to throw in a natural brand though – I’ve been stocking up on Jason’s creams, which works a treat. Lovely Aloe Vera body cream and gel for post sun and a great SPF20 specially formulated for face. Doesn’t white your face out at all, so happy! Those days were so annoying. This is one organic suncream that rubs in properly.
For the rest, the lovely team at Selfridges kindly sent me a selection of summer beauty products to try out. This included the most delicious perfume I have ever smelt – Estee Lauder’s Bronze Goddess. With its vanilla, coconut and madarin mix it’s a sultry haze of desirable deliciousness and I’ve been squirting it on most evenings for a little oomph while I’ve been in Greece. The perfect accompaniment has been the Bobbi Brown bronzer in Antigua 2, which is pinker than most I’ve seen, but very subtle and with a soft glow. It’s been ideal for layering up a little gentle colour as I’ve been tanning.
And, top tip – so much so I mentioned it in this Holiday Packing post on the Topshop blog – is to use a tanning product while you’re building up your tan. I’ve completely fallen in love with this Aerin Gradual Tan, it smells lovely, is just like putting on moisturiser and not too intense. I have made sure to wash my palms though, and I’ve been applying it after my regular body cream for an even spread.
The rest of the make-up is a bit new to me – a gorgeous Charlotte Tilbury eye cream shadow in Cleopatra blue (not a colour I would normally go for) which I just smeared amateurishly over my eyelid (you don’t need much for strong shimmery colour!). The lipliners are an exclusive from NARS, (available from July £29) and the kind of colours I would like to get into wearing with my usual neutral clothes palette of denim and white – would look amazing, right? These give a good stain and would definitely last you through an evening, I’d say. So, signing off for now, keep up with me on Instagram tho!
