#mydreamvintagedress

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERADon’t give up on vintage! That’s what I want to impress upon us in-our-thirties-don’t-have-time-anymore lot. Hands up, I’m guilty. I used to spend so much time rummaging in charity shops and finding Annie’s in Camden Passage was a mega hallelujah back in the day…

Don’t get me wrong. There have been times recently – when I’ve needed a certain thing I’ve gone straight to Beyond Retro (long wool winter coat win) or the fab Mero Retro which was my local up until recently (moved to Dalston now) which turned up the perfect Arran sweater just when I needed it! But let’s just say it doesn’t feature as strongly in my shopping life – especially as now I do so much online. But my wardrobe is all the poorer for it…

A couple of weeks ago, I popped over to the Dalston Beyond Retro to meet Plum and see if I could find my dream vintage dress as part of the #mydreamvintagedress competition – you could win a £250 to spend in store plus a fab overnight for you and a friend at the Hoxton Hotel. See here how to enter.

I was bit nervous at first! It suddenly felt like quite a tall challenge, but a few dresses and try-ons in and I’d already put aside the perfect spotted jumpsuit (distraction alert!) when Plum pulled out this beauty. You know well how I feel about nude leather and fabrics at the moment so it was too perfect. And such a pretty neckline. Gathered in with a pleated belt and teamed with Swedish Hasbeens clogs, I felt pretty happy. And then when I found a wall to match for photos, well, match made really…

Ps. I feel I might be squinching in the last pic. Thoughts? 😉
