Wide & Satin

SFA2My eyes were finally opened to how good Finery is when I had to find something to wear for the Scottish Fashion Awards with Olympus Pen just over a week ago…

Apart from weddings, I really haven’t been to any big dos for quite a while. I do wear dresses, but my last wedding I had a such successful time with culottes so thought it’d be cool to find some trousers for this event. My style oracle Erica suggested The Finery and I snapped up these fab trousers the second I saw them. Yes, they were too long, but I diy-ed taking in the waistband (not ideal, but the front looked fine!) and with a pair of high Mary Janes – very comfy block heel – ended up skimming the floor just perfectly.

I already had the top from Slate Eight and the clutch is by Danielle Foster. I kept jewellery really simple with this necklace from Cold Lillies. This is a definite solution for party outfits, taking away all the pain of finding the right kind of dress. And yes, I got my hair did, just need to learn how to use dem tongs myself!
