I’ve got the spring wanderlust vibes going on – daffodils on my desk, sun warming up the mornings – so this Edit is edging just that little closer to the fun times, you know, dressing more easily, more carefree, ready to adventure…
After quite a London-based winter, I’m hoping the rest of the year will see some exciting travels, so I’m planning things to take already! There are just so many good throw-in-your-suitcase pyjama brands out there at the moment, I feel we’re spoilt for choice. Colours, prints, design, pyjamas no longer have to be raggedy old tee and yoga pants, trips away demand something better. Desmond & Dempsey have a gorgeous selection, including these sun-calling Costa Rican inspired palm prints in hand-painted cotton, the kind that still looks good rumpled. A buttoned v-neck and scalloped allows for a bit of skin on show and cute little shorts are perfect for when it’s a bit warmer. Love this set.
My holiday head sure is on and I nearly squealed in delight when I saw this jute cap on Beach Cafe. I mean I’ve never seen such a thing before! Beach Cafe is a great online destination for planning beach and holiday wear with an excellent range of brands you might not have come across. I also fell head over for this lacey beach dress, scenarios of dusky sandy sunsets kicking back at a beach bar already flooding my poor sun-starved mind. And just to make the craving worse, a very neat little passport holder by Aerin – never had one before and feels like a step into a world of sophistication I have, so far, been denied entry to!
How cute is the candle in the jar? With its little screw-top, this would be so easy to take with. Simple Candle Co is East London based making 100% soy candles with natural cotton wicks and essential oils. They smell divine and I keep my sweet fruity Rhubarb & Blackberry one on the kitchen table at all times. And only £12 for a burn time of 35 hours which is pretty good going pricewise.
Spring/Summer always brings out my need for a pair of reliable, go-anywhere Chucks. I had a pair of white leather low-tops that saw me through an incredible trip to LA, Big Bear Lake and Joshua Tree – layered up in knits, skinnies and Converse, I felt so free and invincible through our long, early spring, so-still-chilly walks. Love how the black works so well with blue denim.
Really into my sunshine-alike gold jewellery at the moment. Elegant, delicate but eye-catching. This new plain gold beaded bracelet by Astley Clarke goes with whatever you’re wearing, adding just a hint of sun-drenched wanderlust vibes and I splashed out on the gorgeous tusk necklace by CF Concept at Parla Online. There are quite a few versions of this necklace around at the moment, but this one has real presence. I’ve been wearing it on its own over jumpers but have a couple of new pieces which it will layer well with for more open-necked tops.
And finally, treated myself to some gorgeously scented body balms (geranium leaf & my fave rind concentrate) by Aesop, perfect for re-hydrating face and hands in the air. I just love the quality of this brand, and the packaging is too hard to resist. I’ve also been trying out a new face oil by Trilogy, the Age Proof C0-Q10 Booster Oil. I’ve loved their and used rosehip oil for years now and this oil is a pumped up with Glycablend – a mix of all sorts of goodness from seeds – anti-ageing version which my skin just sucks up. I never go anywhere without an oil, which I always use pre moisturising in the mornings… Going anywhere nice soon? And can I come with?
