A Collaboration | Silhouette Eyewear

Stylonylon | Silhouette Eyewear | Levis Skinny 501 I’m going to put my neck out here and say I’m thankful I don’t have a Kanye in my life emailing me about which sunglasses I should be wearing… 😉

It seems we have him to thank for the comeback of the tiny 90s Matrix-style specs that have taken hold this summer in the Insta fashionscape and IRL too, lol! The interesting observation being that those wearing them are no longer hiding  behind huge shades and confronting the world and camera lenses full on…

Ok, that may or may not be the case, – thesis on how social media has affected how we interact with the world forthcoming! –  but either way having tried both oversized and the teeny tiny shades in my time, I’ve long come to terms with the fact that actually it’s the just-right medium frames that I feel most comfortable in, most myself and which suit me the best. Deeper thoughts on what that says about my psychology to also be discussed at later date, lol! (*Likes to be normal, much?*)

But seriously, the styles I’m really liking at the moment are with lenses that gradiate in colour – I love how retro and 70s this looks, plus it has the added bonus of not being too dark, which is what I prefer for being able to better see around me for taking photos.

A medium sized frame in a classic style tends to be what I find most reliable. I knew just looking at them these Silhouette Urban Sun frames would work well – cool colour, soft, rounded frame, nice and light to hold. And it kind of takes the agony out of choosing sunglasses when you can just reliably pick out the pair guaranteed to suit you!

And momentarily back to the psychology part – oversized has always felt too flamboyant and look-at-me for me, while the teeny frames I just don’t find comfortable to wear and the design sharpness that usually goes hand in hand with smaller styles feels  just too pointy! I prefer a softer, more comfortable approach that feels good to wear and to me, looks just right!

These frames are by Silhouette, available at Pret-A-Voir – go take a peek and use SIL20 code for 20% off. I hope you enjoy the pics!

These really do sort you. Funnily enough I just bought a pair yesterday from another brand but yes you’re right the graduated lens does seem very 70’s
