Vegan solid bar skincare

Sbtrct Skincare

I’ve been completely bowled away by the fantastic no waste packaging and solid bars from new brand Sbtrct – vegan, palm-free, cruelty free and manufactured in the UK.  I’ve been using the coconut-based gentle foaming cleanser and a shea-butter based moisturising facial balm. They arrive in cardboard packaging which you recycle and you can buy their own special re-usable containers.

I absolutely adore the cleanser and I use this every night now with just a splash of water on my hands to soap it up – the simple ease of not having to twist off any lids or open any caps makes it a nice and quick process, which is exactly what you want last thing at night. It lasts for absolutely ages (max 11-12 weeks) and I could not recommend more if you like a nice, simple cleanse.

The moisturiser I was completely charmed by never having used one before. You use the warmth of your hands to rub some onto your fingers and rub onto your skin. It’s a lovely top up if you’re feeling a little dry anywhere. And in its sustainably made bamboo pot,  a nice travel companion.

Stylonylon | Five Dot Botanics | Vegan skincare
Just five ingredients…

Five Dot Botanics

Minimal, pared down skincare (applied to both products and packaging) really floats my boat as you know and London-based Five Dot Botanics takes this and runs with it.

Vegan certified, no palm oil, only five ingredients per product and made in the UK; I’ve been trying the Eye Renewal Serum which I love applying because of the coolness of the metal roller ball (much nicer and more eco-friendly than a difficult-to-recycle plastic pump) and the Brighten Up Balance Mist which is a hydrating mist, which I love first thing in the morning after a shower before I moisturise.

It’s so brilliant to see more and more  brands taking such a focussed on approach on beautifully made uncomplicated natural products.

Stylonylon | Esse | Probiotic organic skincare
Organic probiotic skincare

Esse Skincare

Esse Skincare is a really exciting brand I have featured here before – using probiotics in their organic formulations to return your skin to a good, balanced state free of problems. I love this type of product as I feel my skin always responds really well to this type of product – I make sure to apply on its own, not mixing in with anything else.

The Resurrect Serum is for ageing skin and one I save for those nights I feel my skin needs a little extra and apply straight after cleansing and nothing else!

Stylonylon | Dr Hauschka Day Cream
Long-term favourite

Dr Hauschka

And as you know, Dr Hauschka is a core part of my skincare routine and has been for a long time now – it is one of the very first brands I discovered perusing health shops back when that was the only place to find natural skincare brands.

While I use the Regenerating Day Cream Complexion (basically a tinted moisturiser) religiously everyday; it’s nice and light but provides the perfect amount of coverage for a regular day (I sometimes top up with a little under-eye concealer but no foundation) I like to use a plain moisturiser first and this milky, hydrating Revitalising Day Cream is just perfect!
