Sunday Edit 13

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAAs the weather ricochets between end of summer and start of autumn, a few changes have been happening around here…

In preparation for our house move (really dragging out now, still waiting for a date!) I’ve started a bit of a whitewashing programme. Something I’ve been planning for a while. My desk – simplest oldest Ikea piece we’ve had kicking around for ages – completely untreated in pale wood, was an easy one. Just covered it in a few coats of white paint. Transformational and to boot forced me into a bit of clean up – so I’ve shifted everything off and re-styled much more simply with these lovely little succulents I picked up from Fleur last week at Chatsworth Road market.

You can see my full line-up here. Sophie casts all the little pots herself, so cool! Planning to go back soon for some of the hangers and there are terrarium and insta-craze Kokedama workshops just started up. Also new in on my desk is this lovely little candle – adore the label! – by east London company Plum & Ashby, honey fragranced divine, I picked it up from my fave Triangle Store on Chatsworth Road, but you can get online here.

Other changes. Well, the hair thing – which I’m journeying you all through with me; that’s just how we roll these days, innit – but sorry, if it’s deathly boring. But hopefully of interest is this brilliant Kiehl’s hair product Silk Groom which I discovered at George Northwood’s salon, which is great for adding a little texture and also smoothing down frizzy hair. Just use a little bit, so gives a nice matteness rather than shine. Some days the top layer of my hair frizzes up a little… weather stuff?

Speaking of which (often it’s back to the weather, right?) on the more autumn-like days we’ve been having I’ve been indulgently slipping my tootsies into these gorgeous sheepskin slippers by Ossie brand Emu. I’ve never had a pair like this before, never thought I would but actually apart from looking surprisingly cute with jeans, they are truly heavenly to wear. But then I’ve always been a fan of sheepskin boots, long trumpeting their cloud-like comfiness. Treat yourself, and a friend. So worth it.

Of course, there’s some denim. Of course, they’re culottes. These 70s indigo blue beauties from come-back 90s comeback queen Karen Millen; the AW15 70s inspired collection is making a real bang and I advise you to go take a look, there are some incredible pieces, like this amaze suede jacket … I’ll be styling up the culottes soon.

I love little leather purses and this cute pocket purse is by Harriet Sanders, who does a wide selection of colours, so you can easily get something to match a handbag. And finally, my latest jewellery obsession, EA Burns, whose shard necklace I wear everyday. Pictured is the gorgeous statement forge ring in rose gold which you can find on the beautifully curated jewellery site Cold Lillies. I’ve done a little edit of my favourite pieces for them due out next week so keep your eyes peeled! Happy Sunday, enjoy the weather now!

I’m squirting with water once a week with a spray bottle – as advised by Sophie from Fleur!
