The day after the Attitude fashion event in Stockholm with Olympus, I stayed on for a little bit of sightseeing. It was a stunningly beautiful day – bright blue sky and crisp – and deposited by taxi in Stureplan in the city centre, the lovely Sarah from Olympus and I had a wander…
We headed to the water, the river Mälaren where the city breaks up into little islands and took in the ever-so pretty architecture and proud-looking moored boats. It was definitely a day for families and friends to be out and about parading up and down the harbour walk. We headed for the Nordiska Museum crossing the bridge with love locks to the island of Djurgården where we had a spot of lunch and met up with the quite fabulous Sophia from Girl in Menswear – she arrived on one the city’s Boris-equivalent bikes looking dashing in beige and black (a look I’ve totally stolen for my next outfit post!)
After that we made for Gamla Stan (the city’s old town) and walked through the shopping streets via a fantastic drumming show. Yes, we may then have got a little waylaid in the Stockholm H&M and & Other Stories stores, I just wanted to check out the stock compared to the UK, ya know?! And a little more time was spent in Monki where I picked up a fab £8 pair of Hope tortoiseshell sunglasses and wide-legged silky 1940s style Linn trousers.
Once back at the hotel, the very impressive looking Scandic Victoria Tower, we scooted up to the bar on the 34th floor for one last look before jumping into a cab to the airport. Stockholm, it may have been short but it was super sweet. Can’t wait to come back!
ps. All these photos shot on my travel compact Stylus 1.
