The final part of my Valentine’s Love Letters mini series, I ask Topshop’s senior digital editor (and Indy columnist!) Alison Taylor which book she’d gift to a loved one and why….
The book: The Novel Cure – An A-Z of Literary Remedies by Ella Bethoud & Susan Elderkin
Alison says: I would gift The Novel Cure by Ella Berthoud and Susan Susan Elderkin to a beau this Valentine’s Day. Apart from the fact that it looks beautiful (dove grey hard cover with cute patterned lining) inside it contains literary remedies for any ‘ailment’ you might care to think of. From baldness (maybe don’t flag this one up) to zestlessness, herein lies the cure. And so much more romantic than Google, no? @lovefoolforever
Caffeine free loose tea and infuser (strawberry & kiwi, very fragrant!) by Whittard
I say: This books is such a brilliant gift. One of those you can delve into and flick through for hours on end, chuckling away at the entries. Humour always infuses true love…
I hope you’ve enjoyed this Love Letters mini series – check out post 01, Jess Cartner-Morley and 02, Pandora Sykes. I must say, I enjoyed putting it together so much there might be more in the future. Bookworms unite!
One response to “Love Letters 03 | Alison Taylor”
Dear Alison,
Thanks very much for this! I came across it by accident just now…a year later, almost! Very kind comments, and we hope you are still enjoying the book.
All the best,
Ella Berthoud
