Where To Eat | Sager + Wilde Paradise Row, E2

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAEast London local and fan as I am, I’m forever amazed by the amount of great places to eat. I’d been to Mission (Update: now called Sager + Wilde Paradise Row) for a birthday dinner which was a wonderful haze of wines, glitter, friendly faces and food we practically fought over, but I’d never been to check out the daytime lunching menu until recently…

Located just a minute’s walk from Bethnal Green tube – the first of a number of restaurants that have taken up residence in the railway arches (atmospheric train rumble ahoy!) on the wonderfully named Paradise Row – Mission is the second serving from Charlotte and Michael Sager Wilde, the wine-connoisseur husband and wife team behind wine bar Sager + Wilde – check out the shoot I did there recently.

Dishes made for sharing, the mouth-watering factor was high. We were ravenous and devoured in seconds the chicken liver, black sesame & apple wafer thin cakes. Followed by Jerusalem artichoke & caramelised yoghurt (yummy if healthy tasting) and a carnivore’s heaven, chopped raw beef, shellfish mayo and jalapeno. Gus did pretty well with the soft, warm bread, Myles drank house red and me a vitamin boosting OJ.

The finale was a very impressive pumpkin ice cream pudding which a latte I’m still dreaming about. The space is amazing as you can see. Although I didn’t do justice to the upstairs space which is perfect for hiring out for parties. Most expensive dish is £12. Anyway, I love this place, and I’ll let the photos do the talking. If you’re looking for lunch or supper in east London, this place will not disappoint. And if it’s your thing, check out the cocktail masterclasses and wine tasting

That place looks so beautiful! I particularly love those wooden tables. For me, East London is still a mistery. I always intend to go… but I usually get caught up somewhere before arriving 🙂 London has so many wonderful areas!

Hi I came over from your Instagram page. I’ve been asking you so many questions, so appreciate your patient : )
I see that you used both the Olympus 17mm 1.8 and Panasonic 25mm 1.4 (this is the one I have) in post.
Would you be able to give me a comparison of these two lenses, image qualities, low light shooting, which one you prefer more on the pel7 body?
Thank you so much again for your time xx

I love and use both these lenses both days! I find the 17mm is a better fit sidewize on the E-PL7 and is great if I just want to go out with a small camera and one lens. But if I had to choose, I think the 25 gives better image quality and I always turn to it if I want to capture some very beautiful detail plus the bokeh is incredible because of the 1.4 aperture. But then the 17mm is great for getting wider shots. So they both have pros. Like I say, I use both most days!
